EMERGENCY BEAN THEORY
I. THE STATE OF PERPETUAL CONTINGENCY
We live in an era of "just-in-case." We carry battery packs for phones that never die, wear waterproof shells for rain that never falls, and invest in futures that may never arrive. We are prepared for everything and ready for nothing.
The Emergency Bean is the ultimate architectural realization of this anxiety. It is the smallest possible unit of "What If."
II. THE DIVINE PROPORTION
A single bean is a tragedy. A bag of beans is a commodity. But a Single Bean, Isolated Behind Glass, is an artifact. By framing the pinto, we strip it of its culinary utility and promote it to a philosophical constant.
It is the 6x6" monument to the "Last Resort."
III. THE RITUAL OF THE BREAK
The glass is not a barrier; it is a litmus test for desperation.
If you break the glass for a snack, you have failed the ritual.
If you break the glass because the world is ending, the bean will not save you.
The value exists only in the potentiality of the break. To own the bean is to own the option to survive, however briefly.
